Purchasing a used Ford was once akin to purchasing a used Edsel. (The acronym FORD was supposed to have stood for Fix Or Repair Daily.) But times have changed. With the acquisition of companies like Jaguar, Mazda, and Volvo, the Ford Motor company has transformed its reputation and infrastructure and made itself into a very viable option for the San Diego used car customer.
Ford's biggest strength may be in knowing what it does well, and doing it over and over again. You might want to look at a used Mustang, that perennial best-sellers with its 215 horsepower V8 engine, or a used Ford F-series truck, best-selling vehicle of any class. But you also can't go wrong with a pre-owned Expedition, Ford's very popular entry into the full-size SUV market, and if you want something a little easier to park, look at a used Ford Focus, a sub-compact car named 'Car of the Year' in Europe two years in a row.
Finding a used Ford automobile in San Diego is relatively easy. You might want to try Pearson Ford in El Cajon (4300 El Cajon 619-283-7181) or Mossy Ford in Pacific Beach (4570 Mission Bay Dr. 858-273-7500) They cannot, however, help you find a used Edsel. You'll have to do that by yourself.
